Fran
Westmore is a Senior Associate of FundAssist and of
SRA Consulting. Fran has many years of hands on business
experience, both within the small business sector
and with large multinationals. Fran’s qualifications
include Information Systems Design (studied internationally)
and Business Management as well as technical writing
and Workplace Training & Assessment. Fran owns
and operates two businesses: Better than Consulting,
which is a technical writing and consultancy business;
and Little Dig & Maintenance (with her partner),
which is a block slashing and maintenance operation.
She also provides case management and training to
long term unemployed clients and writes articles and
fiction when time permits.
Fran specialises
in project development support. Since moving to Broome
, Western Australia , her roles have been in project
design and implementation for Western Australian and
Federal government funded agencies such as the Kimberley
Area Consultative Committee and the Kimberley Community
Management Service. Prior to that move, Fran worked
for Dupont, a large multi-national corporation where
for some years she maintained offices in Melbourne
, Sydney and the USA . While with Dupont, she won
an international Marketing Excellence award for one
of her projects and was accountable for defining and
implementing Best Practice for a very large global
supply chain project. Fran has a very realistic approach
to work, and moves comfortably across both strategic
issues and the practical application of ideas.
In addition,
Fran is skilled in writing a broad range of applications.
Her experience includes research, development and
documentation of funding applications, strategic and
business plans, user and training manuals, presentations,
reports, procedures, practices and articles. She was
able to improve one agency’s funding from zero
projects to five substantial projects in her first
year. She has assisted small and large business in
their strategic planning, and developed a full set
of competencies for Dupont’s supply chain well
before Competency Based Training was widely recognised
in the community.
Fran now lives
in Broome, Western Australia and has spent extended
periods in remote Kimberley communities, gaining a
good working knowledge of Indigenous issues and aspirations.
